Dubai Chamber explores Sri Lanka’s tourism potential A Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion seminar was recently organised by Dubai Chamber in collaboration with Sri Lankan Embassy. The vent urged Dubai businesses to invest in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector which offers investment opportunities due to the country’s open door policy. HE Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, chairman, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, called upon Sri Lankan companies to share Dubai’s experience in the tourism sector. In its drive to promote tourism, the island country can benefit from Dubai’s diversified economy which is working to support the tourism industry and drive new growth through a number of visitor-friendly initiatives, said Al Ghurair. The Sri Lankan delegation was headed by Hon MLA M Hizbullah, deputy minister of economic development (tourism). Also speaking during the event was HE Dr Mahinda Balasuriya, ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE and HE MM Raheem, consul general of Sri Lanka in Dubai.
